For a zero waste future Geocycle Mexico Declares War on Landfills with Lindner’s Polaris 2200
For a zero waste future
Geocycle Mexico Declares War on Landfills with Lindner’s Polaris 2200 Orizaba, Mexico. A Polaris 2200 shredder has been in operation in the Mexican city of Orizaba since April 2018. Now that one year has passed, Operations Manager Esteban Heredia is taking stock: ‘Mexicans’ purchasing power is growing steadily. That’s good for the people but it also leads to much more waste. Our clear goal is to ensure the planet is clean. Sustainability is also of paramount importance to our parent company Lafarge Holcim and that’s why we were looking for a smart, universally deployable solution to recover this municipal solid waste in our cement works in an environmentally friendly way. A year ago, we opted for this one-step processing solution from Lindner and their Mexican sales partner GTA Ambiental. Thousands of tons of alternative fuels later, we are now aiming to increase our capacities.’ The Polaris shredders are highly specialised industrial machines for one-step waste processing and subsequent co-processing in the precalciner.

Lindner at RecyclingAKTIV 2019
The company shows what is possible in the world of waste wood and light scrap recycling The Lindner twin-shaft shredders from the Urraco and Miura series are based on the principles of maximum flexibility and customisation. ‘Our customers require solutions that deliver results specifically tailored to their particle size, fines and throughput needs. In recent years, we have focused in particular on optimising the hydraulic systems and control software, as well as expanding the range of shafts. This enables us to customise the shredders to the client’s specific requirements, allowing us to shred waste wood to a P100 fraction according to ISO 17225-1, for example. With a downstream star screen, we are even able to produce a P63 fraction with a fines content of less than 5%. If we change the configuration, we can use the same tried-and-tested machine as a volume reducer for light scrap. The mobile hydraulics jointly developed with Bosch-Rexroth ensure that the machine always runs at the optimum operating point, saving up to 30% on fuel compared with conventional

Lindner at K 2019
Lindner Focuses on System Solutions in Plastics Recycling Lindner, the Austrian waste processing specialist will be showcasing highly productive, turnkey system solutions for plastics processing that create perfect material for subsequent extrusion, as well as the next generation of the tried-and-tested Micromat shredder series and an exciting new hot-wash system at K 2019. Circular economy is the new buzzword and it has brought recycling companies out of their niche and into the limelight. Once current ad campaigns by major brands are also taken into account, it’s clear that this is a huge opportunity served on a silver platter. ‘Consumers around the world are demanding that resources – and particularly polymers – are used sustainably and responsibly. Many manufacturers are already responding to this trend by trying to provide as many products as possible with at least some recycled material,’ explains Harald Hoffmann, Managing Director at Lindner WashTech. ‘Current developments also place ever higher demands
