PET Sheet Lines: Fit for recycled material thanks to retrofitted line
Key components and know-how for plant optimisation in sheet extrusion The demand for PET packaging sheet, which contains a high proportion of recycled material or is even made of 100% of it, has recently increased enormously due to public discussion and legal requirements. In order to be able to meet these requirements, many processors are confronted with high investment costs for equipment that can process recycled materials. After all, the quality of the end product must be good. An ideal possibility to combine low investment costs with an extended processing window for recycled material is offered by Gneuss Kunststofftechnik GmbH from Bad Oeynhausen with a special retrofit service. One of the companies that has used this service is Cotnyl S.A. from San Martín, thus being the first company in Argentina to obtain local approval to produce packaging made of 100% r-PET. On the one hand, the demand for plastic packaging is constantly increasing worldwide due to changing consumption and consumption habits, especially in the food and

Lindner Recyclingtech: Safely Overcoming the Crisis Thanks to the Successes of Recent Years
Lindner Recyclingtech: Safely Overcoming the Crisis
Thanks to the Successes of Recent Years The current situation suggests a standstill in many places. But that hasn’t stopped the annual financial reports for the year 2019 from being published. Among them is that of the Austrian specialist for waste processing solutions and shredding technology Lindner Recyclingtech. The figures speak for themselves and leave no doubt that the company will overcome the crisis in a positive light. Standing in front of Lindner headquarters, it quickly becomes clear that things are different at the moment. Like everywhere else, information on hygiene regulations and safety measures is displayed next to the omnipresent disinfectant dispenser. Also, due to teams being divided into several locations or working from home, it is quieter in the office building than normal. However, if you listen closely, you will quickly notice that work on the production floors is still in full swing. The group of companies around Lindner Recyclingtech markedly exceeded revenues of €100 million

Lindner Keeps Commissioning Shredders using Modern Tools Nothing’s Impossible Machines are installed despite of COVID-19
Lindner Keeps Commissioning Shredders using Modern Tools
Nothing’s Impossible Machines are installed despite of COVID-19 A new shredder to transform waste into alternative fuels had been ordered and delivered, the facility’s retrofitting was in full swing – and then came the coronavirus lockdown. That was the problem facing the German waste management company Hündgen in Swisttal-Ollheim. But thanks to state-of-the-art communication software and remote service tools, the new Lindner Micromat 2500 is running smoothly and as scheduled. Every single minute that delays the commissioning of a new facility comes with a price tag. This well-known truism poses a challenge to many a company even under normal circumstances. What it means in light of a global crisis is something that Christian Hündgen, CEO and Plant Manager of Hündgen Entsorgungs Gmbh & Co. KG, knows all too well: ‘Our new Lindner Micromat 2500 shredder was delivered in March, when the construction of our facility was well under way. When we were told that due to COVID-19 and the associated travel restrictions, no Lindner

Capacitance point level detection in liquid naphthalene UWT application of the month
Capacitance point level detection in liquid naphthalene
UWT application of the month Full detection with high process compatibility in chemical plant operation The measurement technology a chemical plant was looking for in his liquid naphthalene tanks has to deal with different temperatures, varying DK values and viscosity. In order to meet these conditions in practice quickly and reliably with a clever solution, the capacitive rod probes of the RFnivo® series from UWT were implemented. Changing process temperatures and caking on the sensor boom In the liquid state, naphthalene is an aggressive substance that quickly corrodes common materials. If it becomes firmer as it cools down, it tends to become heavily attached. For the individual tanks with liquid naphthalene, the system operator therefore needed reliable and robust level monitoring, which can be flexibly adapted to the fluctuating ambient conditions. The chemical manufacturer has several storage tanks that are electrically heated to maintain the melting point of the naphthalene. There is

REMBE Safety Days Digital Home Edition Success event continues via video conference
REMBE Safety Days Digital Home Edition
Success event continues via video conference In recent years, the ‘REMBE Safety Days’ series of events has repeatedly made Brilon a meeting place for global explosion safety and process safety. The content of the events was to present and discuss current topics in these areas as well as to create a platform for networking. In November 2019, 150 participants from five continents were welcomed to the Sauerland region. Unfortunately, no live events can take place due to the current situation. In order to nevertheless enable such an important exchange of knowledge, REMBE is offering a digital version of the REMBE Safety Days. Safety is essential – especially in difficult times like this. REMBE has launched the ‘REMBE Safety Days - Digital Home Edition’ to enable experts to continue to exchange their experience in the field of safety technology. “We are proud to be able to provide a platform like this,” says Claire Lloyd (Team Leader Process Safety Europe and one of the speakers at the REMBE Safety Days

Sensor manufacturer microsonic raps.
Chin up and feel the beat. The coronavirus crisis took us all by surprise. The measures taken by politicians against the Corona crisis and the need to restructure and reorganise work are affecting you and your company just as much as they affect us. microsonic as ultrasonic sensor manufacturer has also reorganised its work processes, separated departments and introduced a two-shift system with a split team in production. In this way microsonic was and is able to ensure its ability to deliver. In these extraordinary situation, it is more important than ever to spread confidence and regain strength. With this in mind, microsonic has written a song from their thoughts with the help of the local legend M.I.K.I to encourage us all. For all that has been. And all that is yet to come. And, needless to say, in its own Ultra-special way as a rap song. Chin up and feel the beat.

Module Weighing Unit WU with Bunker Discharge Conveyor BDC Weighing and Metering all of a piece
Module Weighing Unit WU with Bunker Discharge Conveyor BDC
Weighing and Metering all of a piece German based interVIB GmbH offers the ideal solution for accurately defined batches being discharged from a storage bunker. The conveyed product is filled into the integrated bunker in batches. The Bunker Discharge Conveyor BDC is transporting the exact weighted product into downstream equipment. The shared support structure holds the bunker and the Vibratory Trough Conveyor BDC. The support also contains the Weighing Unit WU monitoring the discharge process and sends the signal to the control unit. The Weighing Unit WU includes vibratory and shock resistant load cells built by notable European supplier. This ensures precise discharging and exact loading down to the pound. The needed bunker volume, through width and length is free of choice and suited to the application. The conveying trough, but also the bunker can be equipped with bolted in wear plates, either made of manganese steel or synthetics. Noise insulating lining can be inserted in between. Furthermore it
