Certified level sensors for applications in desert areas

Solutions for plants around the Persian Gulf

Along with several distributors Aiman Gayed, UWT Area Sales Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region, visited various plant operators around the Persian Gulf, who needed different level measurement technology to optimize their manufacturing processes. In particular, continuous level and point level measurement for storage and conveying processes as well as dosing, mixing, filling and drying was of great interest.

The product portfolio with its many configuration options for different process conditions was presented for different industries. Among them the classic device Rotonivo®, a rotary paddle switch that has proven itself many times in difficult media detection and is also certified according to SIL 2 in addition to the current international approvals. In most of the regions where the measurement instrumentation was or will be used, there are desert areas and there is a predominantly dry, humid climate with high temperatures and a dusty environment. The certified and robust design of the UWT sensors therefore offer smart solutions for reliable level monitoring in local silos, tanks and process vessels.

In addition to solids, granules and powders, media detection was also about liquid contents that are pasty and partly produce foam. In order to reliably determine these materials, the colleagues had the capacitive level sensors Capanivo® CN7, CN8, the RFnivo® RF8 as well as the NivoCapa® NC 8 in the bag. All devices are equipped with potted electronics and work with the unique “Inverse Frequency Shift” technology. They provide a robust, certified construction and offer suitable solutions for a wide range of different liquids. Through a variety of metal rope, cable, rod and pipe extensions the units can be easily adjusted to single conditions of the process vessel and can be used for interface measurement.
