VEGA expands in the USA: New electronics production opens in Mason
A milestone for the measurement technology manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG: At the beginning of October, the company officially commissioned its new electronics production facility at the US site in Mason near Cincinnati.
The expansion covers around 11,000 square meters and doubles the previous production area in Mason.
With the expansion, VEGA will produce electronic components directly on site in the future. The site expansion strengthens local supply chains, reduces dependence on global logistics, and increases flexibility in customer service. Production at the company headquarters in Schiltach remains.
Sustainability and energy efficiency
The new building was realized with a clear focus on energy efficiency and environmentally friendly materials. Regional sourcing and the elimination of long transport routes contribute to a more sustainable value chain.
“With the expansion in Mason, we are investing in proximity to our customers in North America,” says Isabel Grieshaber, Managing Partner of VEGA. “This allows us to react faster, conserve resources, and deploy our innovative strength more effectively worldwide.”
Collaboration across continents
After around two years of planning and construction, the first circuit boards successfully rolled off the line. VEGA celebrated the official start with employees from the USA and Germany as well as representatives from politics and economic development in Cincinnati.
The success is the result of intensive teamwork across continents. In addition to technical expertise, cultural exchange also played an important role: VEGA offered intercultural training and language courses.
With the new electronics production, the measurement technology manufacturer strengthens its international production strategy and creates the basis for further global growth. Specialists from Schiltach will support the ramp-up of production until the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition to series operation.
