This is a successful local collaboration in which EEM utilises all of its fuel. Previously, the company had to pay to have fuel removed that was too large and unusable.
Torbjörn Bånkestad, maintenance planner at EEM, explains: ”We have fuel that is too large to be burned directly. The material must be chipped into smaller fractions so that we can use it.

Wood Chipping and conveying

Thanks to the new reject chipper, which FB Kedjor designed, manufactured and installed for us in collaboration with BT Konstruktion, we can shred the wood fuel and transport it directly via chain conveyors.
The chipper system consists of a feed table that is loaded with a wheel loader. This is followed by a chain conveyor to the chipper, an FBWRS 10-11V, which is fed from above and shreds the material to the desired size before it falls into a feed screw. The screw conveys the wood chips further into the storage container.”

Sustainable solutions that increase profitability
Now, all forest residues are chipped on site to the requested grain size and fed directly back into the process. This means:

• fewer truck-transports
• lower CO₂ emissions
• noticeable cost savings
