MoistTech’s sensors for moisture measurement in pipelines
MoistTech’s sensors can be mounted to any pipeline, belt, screw or drag conveyor, chutes, cyclones, bins, before and after the dryer and on webs for converting applications. MoistTech sensors are not limited to the type of installation and can be mounted in any orientation using many of our measurement accessories. Many locations thought to be inaccessible now provide MoistTech with an installation option. Large pipeline locations can be measured using a MoistTech Flange Window. Many products gravity fed or pneumatically conveyed are measured using the snorkel and sampler cup accessories. Product collects in the sampler cup and measured before air purges the sample back into the process repeating the measurement. Does your product flow through a pipeline? No problem. MoistTech’s sensors can be mounted to any pipeline, belt, screw or drag conveyor, chutes, cyclones, bins, before and after the dryer and on webs for converting applications.

Cube ultrasonic sensors, also for level measurements
The rotatable sensor head of the sensors permit their alignment in five radiation directions and enable ideal adaptation to different applications and installation conditions. Easy to integrate into mechanical engineering applications, the new cube ultrasonic sensors from microsonic are characterised by their flexibility and versatility. The rotatable sensor head of the sensors permit their alignment in five radiation directions and enable ideal adaptation to different applications and installation conditions. Its QuickLock mounting bracket enables the cube to be mounted quickly and easily. This enables sensor replacement without tools. The LED display on the sensor is clearly visible in all installation positions, enabling the user to keep the sensor status in view at all times. The cube sensors have a small cuboid installation dimension (40 mm x 40 mm x 40 mm). With three detection ranges, they cover a measurement range from 65 mm to 5 m. The fully equipped version is factory-set with a push-pull switching output and an analogue output. If required, the analogue output can be deactivated using LinkControl or IO-Link and a second switching

Best inspection technology for safe, plant-based foods
Meeting the highest quality requirements of international standards CREMER Sustainable Foods PTE. Ltd is a new plant-based food production facility in Singapore and a joint venture between CREMER Nutrition (Germany) and TEMASEK (Singapore). With approval from the European Commission in December 2021, CREMER and TEMASEK’s Asia Sustainable Foods platform have laid the foundation for CREMER Sustainable Foods in Singapore. The joint venture’s first plant-based products manufacturing facility, covering 11,000 square meters, is located in Singapore and was completed in the first quarter of 2022. The startup capacity is over 1,000 tons per year. The focus of the newly established company is to expand plant-based protein product manufacturing capacity in Asia to provide customers with fresh, traceable and sustainable plant-based foods. CREMER and TEMASEK recognize the growing importance of sustainable, healthy and vegan diets to the global food ecosystem and intend to play an important role in driving these trends. Highest Metal

Radar measurement in fine sand of building materials production
A German building materials manufacturer was looking for compatible level sensors in its narrow, high storage silos for very fine sand, among other things. A non-contact measurement with free-radiating radar measurement technology from UWT was preferred. The advantages of non-contact radar level measurement lie in its ability to provide accurate measurement regardless of the properties of the medium (e.g., density, dielectric constant). It also works in adverse environments with high temperatures, pressures, vibrations or dust. The NR 4100 has been installed in several storage silos for level measurement of very fine sand (0-1 mm). The high frequency 80 GHz radar sensor of the NivoRadar® series offers a high resolution as well as a robust design. - Max. adjustment: 1,000 m - Min. alignment: 15,000 m The echo profile looked top notch. Installation and commissioning were quick and straightforward. Pairing the devices via Bluetooth with the UWT LevelApp worked intuitively and ensures transparent and modern level monitoring. Special features of the application/application data: - Low DK value of the sand -

Hard Stuff. Easy with NOLL.
POWTECH 2023: NOLL’s impact whirl mill DemiNo® is a universal genius and fantastic energy saver. Its impact elements made of hard metal now become even lighter. Impact whirl mill DemiNo® stands out by its worldwide exclusive processing technology, only available at NOLL Processing Technology. It uses far less energy than other milling systems and is remarkably versatile. A pioneering solution, even for hardest stuff DemiNo®’s applications range from enhancing the value of organic material – foodstuffs such as corn or chick peas – to the processing of ceramic products and minerals (Clay, Limestone). Abrasive and sticky products, too… The system easily copes even with extremely hard and coarse materials, where other comparable mills surrender. The system also excels in the ultra-fine processing of metal oxides, and in milling dust-explosive powders. Longer service life of impact elements The DemiNo® rotor is easily adaptable to specific product or process requirements, for example by choosing from a variety of impact elements used. The options include elements made of hard metal. The mill’s rotor can be operated

Wire mesh vibration dampers as an alternative to the standard
Almost everyone is familiar with vibration dampers made of elastomers. When conditions get tougher, rubber-based vibration isolators reach their limits. Production in a multi-phase process, partly by hand The basis or the main element of every vibration damper is the damping pad made of stainless-steel wire. This is produced in a multi-stage process. First and foremost is the knitting of several stainless-steel wires into a stocking. This stocking is then rolled to create a mat. While these processes are automated, the next step is manual. The existing mat is pulled over a mandrel and brought into its mostly cylindrical shape. At the end of production, this blank is pressed and spot-welded to create an elastic molded part. This is used as a damping pad. Design parameters An element is characterized by the same values that describe the corresponding geometric shape. For the cylindrical cushion, the outer diameter, inner diameter and height are required as a basis. For a rectangular cushioning element, the width, length and height. Other shapes can be adapted based on the geometry. The volume or density can be deduced

Conveyor chains for building material recycling steel-belt-conveyor
In 2019, an apron conveyor chain in front of a crusher for demolition material had to be replaced in Pantaleon at the Austrian company Hasenöhrl. No spare parts could be supplied by the plant manufacturer. FB Ketten found a suitable solution. The Hasenöhrl company was founded in 1960 by Otto Hasenöhrl. After more than five decades, the Hasenöhrl Group, with all its areas of activity, is one of the most modern in its sector. Managed by Com. Ing. Karl Hasenöhrl, the company is still a pure family business. Strategically, the company focuses on moderate and constant expansion, long-term customer loyalty, highly motivated employees as well as a sustainable approach to the environment and the conservation of natural resources. At several locations, demolition materials are processed and made available for re-entry into the raw materials cycle. In St. Pantaleon, the apron feeder chain to the crusher had to be replaced in 2019. This is how the contact between Mr. Gerhard Greindl (Head of Fleet Management at Hasenöhrl) and Mr. Gerhard Mittermayr, the responsible chain application engineer at FB Ketten, came about. Tailor-made chain solutions also for older plants FB Ketten specialises in customised
