Herbold Meckesheim Delivers Second PET Washing Line to Doğa PET, Expan
Meckesheim, Germany, March 2026 – Herbold Meckesheim, a specialist in machinery and system solutions for plastics recycling, has been commissioned by Turkish recycling company Doğa PET to deliver a second PET bottle washing line. The order follows the successful operation of the first washing line, which has been in continuous operation since the first quarter of 2024. With the new installation, Doğa PET will double its existing washing capacity at its recycling site in Kırklareli, Türkiye to produce a daily output of 200 metric tons of rPET flakes. The project underlines the confidence placed in Herbold Meckesheim as a system supplier and long-term technology partner for complex recycling applications.

Post-consumer PE Film Recycling: also in South Africa now!
The first large-scale plant for the recycling of heavily contaminated PE film waste has now delivered by HERBOLD MECKESHEIM, the plant can process up to 8,000 tons per year of film, used big bags and similar waste. The waste coming in bales are pre-sorted, shredded and foreign bodies are separated by means of a pre-washing unit in which also a first washing takes place. Fig. 1) Charles Müller (Managing Director) and Deon Swart (Technical Manager) in front of the HERBOLD plant Afterwards, further contaminations are dissolved in a wet granulator under intensive friction; a subsequent friction washer separates the dirty water from the product. A hydro cyclone separates foreign plastics and specifically heavy contaminations from the target fraction. This separation process has a particularly high separation effect and ensures the high quality of the produced film flakes. Bottle-to-bottle Flakes with FDA Approval
Now Also in Honduras The recycling company INVEMA (www.invemagroup.com) commissioned a plant for the recycling of PET bottles in Honduras at the end of 2016 in order to produce bottle-to-bottle quality with FDA approval. In the first expansion stage the plant is processing 2000 t/month. Fig. 1) In Honduras the collection rate of PET bottles amounts to 84 %. 2000 t PET bottles per month are treated with the plant technology from Herbold Meckesheim. In a multi-stage process, the bottles are pre-sorted, size-reduced, washed cold and hot and after drying forwarded to a flake sorting step.The German machine manufacturer HERBOLD MECKESHEIM (www.Herbold.com) produced, installed and commissioned the plant. Fig. 2) After sorting, the PET bottles are size reduced in two Herbold granulators with a capacity of 1800 kg/h each.
