The focus is on transparent plastics such as polycarbonate and PMMA. Other key areas are technical plastics and the recycling of CDs. The company, which consistently relies on solar power, is currently spread over six halls with a usable area of 12,000 square meters. Krall: Disposal Contract with Sunclear France
Krall Kunststoff-Recycling has signed a disposal contract with French semi-finished products distributor Sunclear. As part of its increased commitment in Europe, Krall Kunststoff-Recycling has signed a disposal contract with distributor Sunclear, a leading supplier of semi-finished products such as sheets, multiwall sheets, corrugated sheets, tubes and profiles made of plastic, aluminium and composites in France. As part of this agreement, Krall is responsible for disposing of the recyclable materials generated during cutting or processing as waste at all 16 French branches of Sunclear and their customers. Krall supplies these collection points with its customized pallet cages, which are then filled and transported back to its own company. The approximately 250 tons of plastic waste generated by Sunclear each year consist mainly of PC and PMMA, polyolefins (PP and PE), styrenics, PET and PVC, as well as engineering plastics and composites with aluminium. Krall processes the plastics into single-origin regrind, which can then be used as a direct substitute for virgin material in…

Certificates underline environmental responsibility
Suppliers of Krall Kunststoff-Recycling receive proof of their contribution to CO2 savings By issuing sustainability certificates, Krall Kunststoff-Recycling, manufacturer of high-purity regrind, is now confirming to its suppliers from industry, trade and local authorities that they handle plastic waste responsibly, promote the circular economy and thus help to reduce CO2 emissions into the environment. The documents state the quantity of plastics delivered to Krall by the end of the year and, based on studies by “SKZ - Das Kunststoffzentrum”, the emissions generated during grinding, which, thanks to the photovoltaics used in the company, are significantly lower than with conventional energy supply. They also indicate the amount of greenhouse gases produced during the manufacture of a corresponding quantity of virgin material. Krall’s sustainability certificates thus document the environmental awareness of suppliers and give them the opportunity to demonstrate and evaluate this commitment to third parties. Authorized signatory Louis Krall: ”Studies…

Excellent Ecological Footprint for Technical Plastic Regrinds
Krall Kunststoff-Recycling proves that the CO2 equivalents of their PMMA, PET and PC regrinds are up to 95% lower than those of corresponding virgin materials. As a pioneer in the recycling industry, Krall Kunststoff-Recycling can now prove that the CO2 equivalents of the PMMA, PET and PC regrinds produced there from post-industrial plastic waste are up to 95% lower than those of corresponding virgin materials. One key to this particularly high contribution to sustainability is the extensive use of solar energy generated in-house. The calculation of the carbon footprints, which was carried out at a renowned institute, was based on the international standards DIN EN ISO 14040 / 14044 on ”Life Cycle Assessment” and DIN EN ISO 14067 on ”Carbon Footprint of Products”. Company founder and managing director Markus Krall comments: ”The documentation of greenhouse gas savings gives our customers and partners a valuable aid for proving and evaluating their own environmental measures. The high values that apply specifically to our regrinds make a particularly positive contribution to this.” Variety of certifications strengthens…

Turning Waste into Raw Materials: 30 Years of Krall Kunststoff-Recycl
For three decades, sustainability has been the focus of the family-owned company Krall Kunststoff-Recycling in Elsenfeld am Main. Krall’s history began with a small plan t in early 1992, when “recycling” still was almost unheard of in public. Manufacturers and processors were offered the takeover of plastic residues for subsequent type-sorting and grinding. From the very beginning, executive director Markus Krall focussed on transparent plastic materials, mainly polycarbonate and PMMA, which constitute the core business still today. Further key aspects are engineering plastics and the recycling of CDs. Today, the company comprises six workshops with a total floor area of 12,000 square meters. With about 40 employees, two shredding machines, and 10 chopping mills, the company will reprocess some 8,000 tonnes of plastic materials in the anniversary year, consequently working with environmentally friendly solar power. The type-sorted regrinds from Krall Kunststoff-Recycling are raw materials worldwide sought-for by processors who gladly return them into the materials cycle – for the direct…
