Safe level measurement in ethanol tanks with TDR NivoGuide NG 8000
For the storage processes of ethanol of a Swedish producer the guided wave radar for continuous level determination was implemented within several tanks. In addition, TDR sensors meet the highest safety standards, which makes them the technology of choice especially in the oil, gas and chemical sectors. With these capabilities, TDR sensors make a noticeable contribution to increasing the productivity of the plant. Robust sensor design that can be used in a variety of ways Radar technology has gained more and more importance over the past decades and has been continuously developed. The area of application now extends from simple installations to complex process vessels with a wide variety of challenges. In addition to free-radiating radar sensors, the radar category also includes those based on guided microwave technology, which are often referred to as TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) or GWR (Guided Wave Radar). Above all, the versatility and insensitivity to changing process conditions make TDR sensors a popular all-rounder. In the course of modernizing its plants, an ethanol producer in Sweden was looking for a smart

Interface Measurement in liquid layers UWT offers you the right solution for your interface measurement
Interface Measurement in liquid layers
UWT offers you the right solution for your interface measurement Continuous measurement There are applications not only in the chemical, petrochemical or oil & gas industries but also in other industries, such as Oil & fat separators where a separating layer between two liquids or a liquid and foam is to be measured. The particular challenge for the measurement technology are mainly deposits, adhesions, chemicals and any emulsion layers that may occur. With the NivoCapa® 8000 and NivoGuide® 8000 series, UWT offers two reliable sensor families that meet the most diverse media to be measured, requirements and installation positions. Point Level Measurement The capacitive measuring method is ideally suited to precisely record or measure the transition between two liquids or a liquid and foam. Sensors for interface measurement are designed to have a high sensitivity, a high chemical resistance and a robust design with regard to mechanical stress and deposits or adhesions. With the Capanivo® 7000 and Capanivo® 8000 series and the

Precise interface measurement of different solids in liquids Project planning options for interface detection with NivoBob® or Vibranivo® from UWT
Precise interface measurement of different solids in liquids
Project planning options for interface detection with NivoBob® or Vibranivo® from UWT There are several industries where sludge levels or solids in liquids need to be measured. For example, in sediment containers or basins, filters or lamella separators in the metal industry, chemical plants, lime or gravel works and the waste water industry. The measuring accuracy and durability of the sensor technology is important. Dirt, chemicals and gases often affect the sensors and require special resistance. The NivoBob® series NB 3300/3400 meet the requirements of many interface measurements and are very reliable due to the simple measuring principle. For level evaluation an analogue signal 4-20mA and a Modbus RTU/Profibus DP interface are available. Vibrating forks of the Vibranivo® series VN 1000 or VN 5000 can be used to measure the level of sludge and solids in liquids. The parts in contact with the medium are made of resistant stainless steel. With the versions VN 1030 and VN 5030 even depths of approx. 4 m when installed from above in a tank or basin.

Company extends production of cat litter with RHEWUM screening machines
Company extends production of cat litter with RHEWUM screening machines
In order to increase the plant capacity for the production of cat litter, an international oriented company for raw materials built a second production line, in which RHEWUM screening technology was used once again to ensure product quality. A new, modern and automated high-bay warehouse ensures better logistics and efficient transport organisation to Europe as well as to the United Arab Emirates and Australia. After the discontinuation of mining in 1992 the potash factory in Lower Saxony was converted for a cat litter production using the already existing infrastructure. As a result of the success and increasing demand in the sales network with other companies, the second production line will increase capacity by 40 percent per year in the future. For this purpose further proven screening machines of Rhewum gmbH were designed, ordered, delivered on schedule and installed into an existing building. The commissioning at the end of 2019 was successful without any problems

New treatment plant for Slovenian recycler Dinos On centre stage a universal and state-of-the-art washing system from Lindner Washtech
New treatment plant for Slovenian recycler Dinos
On centre stage a universal and state-of-the-art washing system from Lindner Washtech In February 2020 Dinos d.o.o. Ljubljana, Slovenia officially inaugurated a new recycling plant for processing industrial plastic waste, in particular plastic film. On centre stage of the new facility are a universal and state-of-the-art washing system from Lindner Washtech with a range of new and improved components, such as a Micromat 2000 shredder, a highly effective pre-wash unit Floater extend and a mechanical dryer of the Loop Dryer series. The washed flakes are regranulated by an Erema Intarema 1714 TVEplus extruder. The plant has been up and running around the clock five days a week for several weeks now. With 19 waste depots in operation, Dinos is considered one of the largest waste management and recycling companies in Slovenia. The company collects and recycles non-ferrous materials (glass, wood, plastic and paper), metals (all types of old and new industrial scrap, steel, stainless steel and cast iron) and non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, nickel and

Active prevention of fires caused by damaged batteries with Lindner`s FPS Introduction of Lindner`s Fire Prevention System
Active prevention of fires caused by damaged batteries with Lindner`s FPS
Introduction of Lindner`s Fire Prevention System One of the most pressing recent issues in the mechanical processing and conversion of waste into solid recovered fuels (SRF) is the high fire risk. This is largely due to a constantly increasing number of lithium batteries in the general waste collection. If damaged, a chemical reaction is often initiated, which leads to incredibly high temperatures. This may cause severe damage to facilities and plants and, in the worst case, start a major fire. To minimise such fire hazards, Lindner‘s FPS (Fire Prevention System) detects overheated particles in the material stream, cools them to a safe temperature and makes sure that objects that cannot be cooled can be safely removed by hand. The continuous, process-related monitoring of surface temperature at several relevant points has proven to be highly successful in combatting potential fire hazards and actively improving safety in facilities that produce solid recovered fuels (SRF). Lindner’s Fire Prevention System (FPS)

Multitalent tdr in solids & liquids Solutions for tricky level measurement challenges
Multitalent tdr in solids & liquids
Solutions for tricky level measurement challenges What is radar? Radar is the abbreviation for "radio detection and ranging" which means "radio-based location and distance measurement". This technology is based on electromagnetic waves. A radar device emits a concentrated electromagnetic wave, which is reflected by objects as an echo and then evaluated by the device according to various criteria. Depending on the application, the following information can be obtained from the reflected waves: -the angle or the direction to the object -the speed of an object (Doppler effect) -the contours of an object -the distance to the object The latter point means that radar technology is also used for determining fill levels. This has become increasingly important in recent decades and has been continuously developed. The areas of application now extend from simple storage tank applications to complex process containers with a wide variety of challenges.
