Internal appointment with technical expertise
Bernhard Schönmetzler has been part of the company since 2018. Most recently, he served as Manager of Approvals, where he significantly shaped this area both technically and organizationally. In this role, he was responsible for complex national and international approval processes and systematically expanded and developed his team.
His many years of experience, particularly in the regulatory environment, form a key foundation for his new responsibilities. As Head of Technical Department, he also remains closely involved with the topic of approvals.
Clear responsibilities and close coordination
In his new role, Bernhard Schönmetzler is gradually taking on expanded leadership responsibilities. Coordination with Managing Director Andreas Haug is close and continuous. Existing interfaces and contacts remain unchanged, ensuring stability and reliability in day-to-day operations.
Andreas Haug continues to be responsible as Managing Director for operations and technology and will remain actively involved, contributing his extensive experience.
Further development of the leadership structure
Since 2020, UWT has relied on an expanded leadership structure to meet the demands of international growth, increasing technical requirements and a growing product portfolio. With the introduction of the Head of Technical Department position, this structure is being consistently further developed.
The aim is to systematically expand management capacities, clearly structure decision-making processes and anchor technical know-how within the company over the long term.
By filling this key position internally, UWT also underlines the high value it places on employee development and long-term collaboration.
