Recycling of filter materials
Shredding in very confined spaces: Specially configured plant reduces volume of layered filter residues by more than 90 percent Filter layers perform complex tasks in the chemical, food and life science industries by removing a wide variety of particles from liquids, depending on the purpose for which they are used. For example, they ensure that the cork taste disappears from wine and turbidity from beer and are used to purify extracts or fermentation broths that are subsequently processed in the flavouring industry or for pharmaceutical purposes. ”To achieve this effect, the filter layers used for depth filtration consist of a cellulose or polymer fibre matrix,” explains Dennis Haag, Head of Engineering and Maintenance, at FILTROX AG. ”The matrix is enriched with mineral filter aids and bonded together via a resin binder.” Confined space requires modification of the shredder Although the material thickness of the filter layers is only between 3.2 and 4.6 mm on average, the efficient shredding of the materials is a challenge. ”Since the filter layers consist of a very dense, fibrous

Lindner at IFAT 2022 Efficient Recovery of Recyclable Materials in Line with the Circular Economy
Lindner at IFAT 2022
Efficient Recovery of Recyclable Materials in Line with the Circular Economy Energy-efficient and profitable solutions for the challenges of tomorrow’s waste management - at the IFAT 2022, hall B6, booth 251/350, and the VDMA outdoor area, the recycling pioneer Lindner will present innovative shredders and system solutions that maximise efficiency and output gains and enable waste disposal and recycling companies to successfully enter the field of plastics recycling. “Make the most of waste” - This motto has been guiding Lindner Recyclingtech’s work for many, many years, and yet it is more relevant than ever. The Green Deal and the associated New Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) call not only for the reduction of CO2 emissions, electrification of the economy and greater energy efficiency but, above all, ask for potential secondary raw materials contained in material flows to be better processed and analysed. At the IFAT 2022, hall B6, booth 251/350, Lindner will be showcasing solutions for these industry-specific and future-oriented

IR-FRESH®: new developments for odor-minimization in granulates and regrinds. A large amount of plastic waste from consumer-market packaging is generated daily. In order to obtain high-quality plastic recyclates from these material streams, and to be able to make them reusable for high-quality applications, odorous substances that have migrated into the material during the course of the product-life must be removed. Up till now, these odorous substances could be removed only inadequately through recycling processes. But with the introduction of KREYENBORG’s new technology, IR-FRESH®, the scenario has changed. IR-FRESH®: new developments for odor-minimization in granulates and regrinds. KREYENBORG has developed sustained, high-level expertise in plastics recycling, with solutions for decontamination of PCR-PET, crystallization, drying, and heating of bulk materials, using infrared technology. Further development of this technology has brought to the fore its newest member among its products, the IR-FRESH® - a modular system for the safe
