Exciting updates in the field of level measurement for bulk solids:

With the innovative EHEDG design of the UWT Rotonivo® rotating paddle detector series, UWT, as a global solution provider, is setting new standards in point level measurement. This development enables an even wider range of applications to be able to benefit from this technology and the series can now also be used in sensitive industrial sectors such as food production, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

For this, the proven design of the Rotonivo® rotating paddle sensor has been significantly enhanced and now complies with the EHEDG standards (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group). Depending on the application, the sensor can be used as a full, demand or empty detector in containers with bulk solids and fulfils the highest hygiene requirements with the EHEDG design.

Insight into the EHEDG-certified product upgrade

The EHEDG version fundamentally differs from the standard version. For this purpose, the contour of the process connection and the flush-welding socket have been revised. The process connection now has a conical shape in order to meet the requirements of the EHEDG guidelines. These stipulate that all transitions must have an angle of at least 135° or a radius of at least 6 mm to ensure 100% cleanliness.

In addition to the stainless steel components, all weld seams now have a surface finish greater than Ra 0.8 µm. To achieve this, all weld seams and all product-contacting metals are polished by way of a technically complex process.
These adjustments have been made with the aim of minimising dead spaces and making the cleaning of the installed sensors more efficient. For applications that require high temperatures, the devices are usable up to a temperature of 150°C with an FKM shaft seal.
