Recyclable industrial hose in real-world use at Masterflex

The Masterflex Group consistently uses recyclable Cradle to Cradle hose solutions in its day-to-day production.

Sustainable Hoses: From Theory to Practice

As a global market leader and award-winning top innovator, Masterflex closely analyzes the performance of its recyclable hoses. Through real-world operation in its own demanding manufacturing environment, the company gains reliable insights into service life and directly applies these to further development, quality assurance, and scaling. “What works for us also works for our customers under real-world conditions,” notes developer Jan Steinmann.

Hose Leadership and Innovation for the Circular Economy

“The Masterflex Group is well on its way to an eco-effective future. We still need plastics, but the right ones. This makes it all the more gratifying to use hose solutions developed according to the Cradle to Cradle principles at our own locations. When we have such confidence in our own products, it sends a strong and important signal to the industry,” says CEO Andreas Bastin.
The Cradle-to-Cradle concept was developed primarily by Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart and William McDonough and has gained international recognition. The basic idea is to design products so that they are either completely biodegradable or can be reused as technical nutrients in closed-loop systems.

Industrial-grade protective conduits as customized special solutions for robotics & automation - developed for maximum dynamics and process stability When standard solutions are not enough Modern robotics and automation systems place the highest demands on the components used. Industrial-grade protective hoses from Masterflex are used wherever standard products reach their limits. They reliably protect sensitive media lines and safeguard processes in highly dynamic applications. Special solutions for demanding robotics For pick-and-place applications and gripper robots, a specially developed protective hose has been realized that reliably encases internal media hoses. This solution deliberately differs from classic pneumatic or food-certified conveyor hoses and is specifically designed for extreme mechanical and chemical loads. Circular Economy: Masterflex hose recycling cooperation
Masterflex SE and NESTRO Lufttechnik test suction hoses made from recycled plastic - a practical test with a signal effect Suction hoses made from recycled plastic In Gelsenkirchen, Masterflex SE, the global market leader for high-tech hose systems, is launching a circular economy pilot project together with NESTRO Lufttechnik. For the first time, suction hoses made from fully recycled plastic material are being tested in industrial use. The aim is to close the material loop and make the circular economy practicable. Nestro Lufttechnik and Masterflex SE The starting signal was given when NESTRO handed over a specially collected batch of used hose remnants to Masterflex. Masterflex produced prototypes from the recycled material; these were inspected at a joint meeting in mid-August - with consistently positive results. Both partners see future-oriented potential for everyday use in many industries. KG, Jürgen Ephan, signed a cooperation agreement between the two companies. The aim was to set up an environmental service branch for industrial products made from technical plastics and to implement this in the market for hose and connecting systems. ”There is no doubt that we are still at the very beginning of our journey towards a closed-loop system for industrial products made of high-tech plastics. As the Masterflex Group, we have decided to consistently follow this path. To this end, we recently launched our ”Hero@Zero” strategic program. In the future, we will offer our customers the right hose not only from a technological and economic point of view, but also in terms of sustainability.
