VEGA opens new plant in China

VEGA officially commissioned and identity celebrated the opening of a new location in Jiaxing, China, at the end of May.
Schiltach/Jiaxing. The measurement technology manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG from Schiltach is further expanding its international presence. At the end of May, the company officially commissioned and celebrated the opening of a new location in Jiaxing, China. Following the expansion of electronics production in the USA in October 2025, the company is strengthening its global production strategy and creating the basis for further growth. Production at the headquarters in Schiltach will remain in place and will be supplemented by the new plant.
VEGA has now been active on the Chinese market for 37 years. The newly constructed building in Jiaxing comprises around 21,000 square meters of production, warehouse, and office space. The location provides space for about 180 employees.
The start of production was preceded by several years of intensive planning. Construction was completed on schedule: following the start of construction in December 2024, the project was completed as planned.
The plant is located in a dynamically growing economic and technological development zone in Jiaxing. The official opening was attended by the management from Schiltach, all employees of VEGA China, numerous customers, and invited guests.

Production for regional markets

The production capacity is designed for the growing Chinese market. The facility adopts production concepts and technical standards from the headquarters in Schiltach. This enables the manufacturing of customized products, optimized inventory management, and automated quality testing.
Through local production, VEGA will be able to react faster to the requirements of the local market in the future, shorten delivery times, and reduce logistics-related CO₂ emissions. At the same time, local production enables even more flexible technical support for customers in the region.

Focus on sustainability

Sustainability is one of VEGA’s corporate goals. During the planning, construction, and commissioning of the new plant in Jiaxing, the measurement technology manufacturer went beyond standard requirements and defined its own high standards for environmental protection and energy efficiency. As a result, the LEED Gold standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was achieved.
Among other things, the building is equipped with a geothermal heat pump system, a rainwater recycling system, and a photovoltaic system on the roof. The building envelope, including the outer walls, windows, and roofs, consists entirely of highly heat-insulating materials, thus contributing to the reduction of energy consumption.
In the coming months, specialists from Schiltach will accompany the production ramp-up to ensure a smooth transition into series operation.

Pyrum plant sets standards in industry 4.0. In Dillingen, in the heart of the Saarland steel district, PYRUM Innovations turns old tyres into new raw materials Oil, recovered carbon black and gas are generated in the process and fed back into industry. This is the result of 15 years of hard work, a green entrepreneurial spirit and Industry 4.0, in order to ensure stable control of all processes. VEGA sensors are also a vital component, as they perform reliable monitoring of all levels and pressures. In the beginning was the idea. Someone had obviously taken a close look and not only realised that there was a huge problem, but also set out to find a solution. The problem came to a head around 2008, when the sheer volume of scrap tyres became unmanageable and no sensible use for them could be found. Piled high, they sometimes caught the eye in temporary storage in tyre workshops, but time and again one could see them piled up in the driveways of farms or lying abandoned on the roadside. Anyone who has a car probably wonders from time to time what happens to the tyres they have just replaced, as over three million tonnes…

Copper recycling: good for the environment and the economy
The processing of copper scrap involves many precisely coordinated processes. When it comes to level instrumentation, Montanwerke Brixlegg relies on radar technology from VEGA. Very few companies can look back on over 550 years of company history. The Brixlegg copper-silver smelter appeared in documents for the first time in 1463. Copper and silver ores were mined there and refined into pure metals up until the 20th century. Since 1890, secondary materials containing copper have been increasingly used as raw materials instead of ores. “While the challenges back then were for the most part exclusively mining problems, today they are much broader. We are now responsible for maintaining a positive interplay between people, the environment and the economy,” explains Patrick Oberladstätter, Head of Electrical Engineering at Montanwerke Brixlegg in Tyrol. Today, Montanwerke Brixlegg AG is a 100 % upcycling company with more than 350 employees and one of the most important industrial operations in western Austria. The plant in Brixlegg is considered a specialist in copper recycling and the associated copper refining. But there is more to it:…

Start of construction of VEGA facility in Kuppenheim Production, logistics and administration buildings are being built
Start of construction of VEGA facility in Kuppenheim
Production, logistics and administration buildings are being built Kuppenheim/Schiltach. On 17 December, instrumentation manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG officially began construction of a new production facility in Kuppenheim. This major project marks a milestone in the company’s growth strategy and sustainable development. The builder is Grieshaber Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG. With the new location, VEGA is expanding its production capacity and strengthening its global logistics. Schiltach will continue to be the company’s headquarters. There, the space available for further growth has been exhausted. The project is being implemented as part of the “Ober-Hardrain” development plan and will give a significant economic boost to the entire region. “We’re creating additional capacity in order to remain competitive in the long term and offer our customers worldwide the quality that VEGA stands for. We’re deliberately investing in sustainable structures and in the future of our company in Germany,” emphasises managing…

VEGA expands in the USA: New electronics production opens in Mason
A milestone for the measurement technology manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG: At the beginning of October, the company officially commissioned its new electronics production facility at the US site in Mason near Cincinnati. The expansion covers around 11,000 square meters and doubles the previous production area in Mason. With the expansion, VEGA will produce electronic components directly on site in the future. The site expansion strengthens local supply chains, reduces dependence on global logistics, and increases flexibility in customer service. Production at the company headquarters in Schiltach remains. Sustainability and energy efficiency The new building was realized with a clear focus on energy efficiency and environmentally friendly materials. Regional sourcing and the elimination of long transport routes contribute to a more sustainable value chain. “With the expansion in Mason, we are investing in proximity to our customers in North America,” says Isabel Grieshaber, Managing Partner of VEGA. “This allows us to react faster, conserve resources, and deploy our innovative strength more effectively worldwide.” Collaboration across continents After around two years…

VEGA registers growth around the globe
Four branches move into new buildings. Focus on sustainability. The measurement technology manufacturer VEGA is growing - not only in terms of turnover and employee numbers, but also visibly. The company has moved into four new buildings in recent months. In Great Britain, the USA, South Africa and Spain, the employees now have significantly more space at their disposal. With this, the specialist for innovative measurement technology with headquarters in Schiltach, where the 1000th employee was welcomed at the beginning of June, continues to invest in its future and attaches great importance to sustainability. At the same time, an environment is to be created for the company’s employees that ”doesn’t feel like just work, but like a second home,” emphasised Isabel Grieshaber, managing partner of VEGA Grieshaber KG, at the opening of the new building in South Africa. Training possibilities increased When designing the four branches, VEGA also paid great attention to expanding the training possibilities. The range…
