  • Guaranteed quality for more planning security

The innovative measurement technology meets safety standards at the highest level and is internationally certified. With a worldwide network of partners in over 90 countries, customers are flexibly supported on site. UWT proves the uncompromising robustness of the devices, such as with the reliable classic NivoBob®. The plumb measuring system has been in use in an application for carbon black by a well-known tire manufacturer for 24 years now, without any problems and without any wear.
Vibranivo® series vibrating forks have even been maintenance-free for more than 30 years at a manufacturer of yoghurt pots.

The wide range of quality products ensures maximum flexibility, safety and reliability in a wide range of process applications. The product portfolio has been steadily expanded since 1977 and, in addition to different measuring principles, offers a repertoire of special solutions for tricky applications in different industrial sectors.

Company information

UWT GmbH
UWT GmbH
The UWT has become one of the leading suppliers of measurement technology on the world market today for the level detection in silos and tanks for material manufacturing processes. When UWT started, almost 50 years ago, with the development of ingenious products. UWT supply level limit and content measurement sensors for bulk solids and liquids. A company reaches such a position only if the following key elements interact: Sound management, good understanding of the needs of the markets, innovative product solutions, skillful investment and above all, committed and dedicated employees. Different measurement techniques are used within a variety of industries depending on the medium and application in question.UWT products represent quality, flexibility and reliability in over 90 countries across the world. Having successfully solved several million applications have now been deployed in the field within the bulk solids sector, UWT has expanded still further by introducing a new and innovative product range for the liquids market which is delivering reliable solutions for applications in this area. The company is certified ISO 9001:2015 and constantly expands its portfolio of product certifications (ATEX, EHEDG, FM, CSA, INMETRO, etc.) particularly with regard to the international markets. The development, production and sales departments are located at our headquarters in Germany, with a further production site in Malta. UWT has also established successful sales offices in the USA, China, India, Brazil, Mexico, UK, Spain and Poland. With this global orientation, it is possible to serve and support customers with complete competence and flexibility. From development through production to final assembly and comprehensive technical advice, UWT can offer a complete service from a single source. The strongly held belief by the CEO`s Uwe Niekrawietz, Markus Schalk and Andreas Haug is for the welfare of over 200 employees world-wide: „Healthy and happy employees can make the unbelievable happen“. Our portfolio includes sensors for liquids: * Capanivo® 7000/8000 - capacitive sensors * RFnivo® 8000 - capacitive sensors * NivoCapa® 8000 - capacitive sensors * NivoGuide® 8000 - TDR guided radar * NivoRadar® 7000 - non contact radar sensor Sensors for bulk solids: * Rotonivo® - rotary paddle * Vibranivo® - vibrating fork * Mononivo® vibrating rod * Capanivo® 4000 - capacitive sensors * RFnivo® 3000 - capacitive sensors * NivoBob® 3000/4000 - electromechanical lot system * NivoRadar® 3000/4000 - contact free radar sensor * NivoGuide® 3000 - guided radar sensor (TDR) NivoTec® - visualisation systems NivoLED® - signal lamp Maximum Safety for Hazardous Areas

How RF Technology Works
RF Technology Decoded by UWT – How Electrical Signals Deliver Reliable Level Detection RF technology (Radio Frequency Capacitance) uses high-frequency measurement for precise level detection. Unlike purely capacitive sensors, it detects not only changes in capacitance but also the specific resistance of the medium. This ensures reliable measurement even under challenging conditions. How does RF technology work? The principle is based on an electrical voltage divider. Together with the medium, the probe forms a measuring system that detects both capacitance and impedance. Impedance describes the total electrical resistance a medium presents to an alternating current. It indicates how strongly a material reacts to electrical signals – and this change is exactly what RF technology uses for reliable detection. When the material comes into contact with the electrode, the capacitance increases abruptly – a clear signal that the level has been reached. The longer the active electrode, the more sensitively the probe responds. This allows the measurement…

Smart Handling of Aggressive Media UWT Sensors Monitor IBCs from the Outside
Smart Handling of Aggressive Media
UWT Sensors Monitor IBCs from the Outside Safe storage and reliable monitoring of caustic soda in a dairy application UWT has introduced a smart, non-contact level measurement solution for aggressive media stored in Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). This system uses external sensors, eliminating direct contact with corrosive agents like caustic soda for safer, flexible, and more sustainable monitoring in plants. Safe and Flexible Monitoring of Aggressive Media Smaller dairies often use IBC containers for aggressive disinfectants like caustic soda (NaOH) instead of large stationary tanks. This practical approach allows the medium to be diluted and fed into cleaning-in-place (CIP/SIP) systems. UWT’s solution provides non-contact monitoring from outside the tank, ensuring a safer and more flexible operation. Non-Contact Continuous Level Measurement The continuous level measurement is handled by the NivoRadar® NR 7100. This free-radiating 80 GHz FMCW radar sensor is mounted vertically above the…
