Recovery of filter dust with Rhewum fine-cut screens
Sustainable projects can be quickly implemented, e.g., with RHEWUM screenmachines, recovering valuable materials at high throughput rates. 1. SUMMARY When discussing sustainability, most people immediately think of wind turbines, solar panels, and similar green technologies. However, truly sustainable and commercially viable projects can often be implemented quickly and easily within existing screening and grinding processes provided the right technology is in place. This article offers practical insights into this overlooked area. RHEWUM fine-cut screens, such as the RHEsono® or RHEsonox® models, enable highly precise protective screening even at substantial throughput rates. These systems can achieve separations as fine as 50 μm or 300 mesh, allowing for effective recovery of valuable materials that would otherwise be lost. In the following sections, we’ll demonstrate just how economically beneficial the recovery of filter dust can be, an opportunity many operations currently miss. 2. INTRODUCTION In efficient comminution systems, mills are usually operated in combination with screens. Rather…

Reliable Point Level Detection for Coffee Filling–with the UWT Sensor Process reliability with varying bulk materials, no need for recalibration. Vibranivo® VN 4020 vibrating level switch: high flexibility and reliable performance
Reliable Point Level Detection for Coffee Filling–with the UWT Sensor
Process reliability with varying bulk materials, no need for recalibration. Vibranivo® VN 4020 vibrating level switch: high flexibility and reliable performance A production facility for coffee and cocoa products was looking for a reliable solution for point level detection during manufacturing and packaging. The particular challenge was that various products such as instant coffee, chicory, and cocoa were used alternately, each with different material properties. Despite this variety, the sensor needed to operate consistently and precisely, without the need for recalibration. The Challenge The product range included various materials such as roasted coffee beans, ground coffee, instant coffee, chicory, and cocoa. Instant coffee, in particular, may contain sugar and milk powder, depending on the variety, which creates a particularly sticky substance during mixing - a real challenge for level measurement technology. In the packaging line, a solution was needed that ensured reliable point level detection even with frequently changing bulk materials while also meeting strict hygiene requirements. Key Challenges at-a-glance: *…

Dust Recovery with Fine Screening Technology
Dust is a resource. With RHEWUM® fine screening technology, valuable products can be recovered from dust, energy can be saved, and processes can be made more sustainable. Discover how we go about this Fine Screening Technology For Sustainable Dust Recovery and Resource Efficiency; When it comes to sustainability, many first think of wind turbines or solar energy. But even in existing screening and grinding processes, sustainable and economically beneficial changes can be implemented quickly and easily. RHEWUM fine screening technology – particularly through the RHEsono® and RHEsonox® systems – enables the recovery of valuable products from filter dusts with separations down to 50 µm or 300 mesh. Filter Dust Recovery Focusing on Energy Savings and Sustainability; In comminution technology, mills and screening machines work closely together. Screening machines retain only particles that exceed the defined maximum grain size. This process consumes between two and twenty kilowatt-hours of electricity per ton of material. Additionally, drying – for example, from 10% to below 2% residual moisture – requires about 48 kWh per ton. In total, this results in…

Screening Machines, the Choice: Conventional or Directly Excited? What’s the best screening solution for you? With many options available, companies often struggle to find the optimal machine for their specific requirements.
Screening Machines, the Choice: Conventional or Directly Excited?
What’s the best screening solution for you? With many options available, companies often struggle to find the optimal machine for their specific requirements. Although all technologies serve the same basic purpose – the separation of particles by size – they fundamentally differ in their construction, operation, and applications. The right choice can not only increase productivity but also minimize maintenance and downtime, which is crucial in today’s competitive industrial landscape. Below, we’ll look at the differences between conventional vibratory screens and direct-excitation screen machines to help you make your decision. Conventional Vibratory Screens: How They Work Conventional vibratory screens operate with an oscillating motion transmitted to the entire screen frame. This movement is generated by eccentric shafts or unbalance motors, ensuring the material advances on the screen surface and particles can fall through the mesh. Advantages of Conventional Screens: * Simple design * High throughputs * Flexibility Disadvantages of Conventional Screens: * Inefficient separation with low vibration…

4B WDB83X Contact Bearing Temperature Sensors WDB83x contact bearing sensors offer protection from overheating with built-in grease nipple, NC circuit, and PLC/monitor compatibility—simple, safe, reliable.
4B WDB83X Contact Bearing Temperature Sensors
WDB83x contact bearing sensors offer protection from overheating with built-in grease nipple, NC circuit, and PLC/monitor compatibility—simple, safe, reliable. The WDB83x series is a range of contact bearing temperature sensors designed to provide reliable over-temperature protection for bearings. Each sensor is manufactured to screw directly into the bearing housing for direct contact monitoring and is equipped with a built-in grease nipple, allowing for lubrication without the need to remove the sensor. The sensor includes a fixed two-core cable for easy connection to a monitoring device or junction box. As the wiring is not polarity sensitive, installation is simplified, and the cable can be extended in the field if needed. All sensors in the WDB83x series operate in a normally closed (NC) state, meaning the circuit remains closed under normal conditions. When the preset temperature limit is exceeded, the bimetal element opens the circuit to trigger an alarm. The circuit automatically resets once the temperature drops back below the reset threshold. These sensors are primarily used for over-temperature protection in…

Custom made chain conveyors with material testing as starting point Material behavior: the key to robust and reliable design of chain conveyors, also called drag conveyors and Redlers
Custom made chain conveyors with material testing as starting point
Material behavior: the key to robust and reliable design of chain conveyors, also called drag conveyors and Redlers When handling bulk materials in demanding environments—especially those that are abrasive, corrosive, or volatile, chain conveyor (drag conveyor, Redler), is often the best solution. However, its performance and lifespan depend entirely on how well it is adapted to the specific properties of the material it will transport. And that adaptation begins with detailed material testing. Robust and reliable design Chain conveyors are commonly used where durability, sealing, and controlled flow are essential. This includes industries handling mineral products, fertilizers, or alternative fuels. For such applications, a one-size-fits-all design is not only inefficient but can result in severe equipment degradation and safety risks. To avoid these issues, it’s vital to begin with a technical study of the bulk material’s behavior. The main properties to analyze are: * Bulk density * Particle size and shape * Flowability and angle of repose * Moisture content *…
