Production Start Instead of Infrastructure Projects: Mobile Bagging

GREIF-VELOX's container-based solution delivers a ready-to-operate bagging system directly to the production site. This significantly reduces installation and integration efforts while creating flexible production capacities for bulk materials.
The requirements for modern production facilities are changing. Companies today need flexible capacities, short project lead times, and investment solutions that can quickly adapt to changing market conditions. With the VeloUnit Container, GREIF-VELOX has developed a mobile bagging solution that meets exactly these requirements: a pre-assembled container-based plant for fast and efficient bulk material bagging with minimal installation effort.

The VeloUnit Container combines the proven technology of the GREIF-VELOX BVPV gross pneumatic packer with a modular container-based system concept. Thanks to its high degree of pre-assembly, installation, integration, and commissioning efforts are significantly reduced. To start production, users only need to connect the container modules and provide a power supply. Extensive construction work and lengthy installation phases are largely eliminated.

Flexibility Through Container-Based Design

The container concept enables operation at different locations without the need for extensive plant infrastructure. This opens up new opportunities for rapidly growing operations, temporary production sites, and projects with limited space availability. Operators benefit from lower investment costs compared to building new facilities while achieving rapid operational readiness. The result is a fast return on investment.

At the Core: The BVPV Gross Pneumatic Packer

At the heart of the system is the GREIF-VELOX BVPV gross pneumatic packer. It is designed for the precise filling of powders, fine-grained products, granulates, pellets, and product blends into paper and woven PE valve bags. Particle sizes ranging from 50 µm to 12 mm can be processed.

A specially developed dosing technology combined with a legally compliant weighing system ensures high filling accuracy while minimizing product losses. Product-friendly filling is achieved through an airflow tailored to the specific material. This allows even demanding bulk materials to be packaged precisely and efficiently.

The system is suitable for industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, food processing, and building materials. Depending on the configuration, output rates of up to 800 bags per hour with four packers can be achieved.

Hygienic Design for Demanding Applications

Another key advantage of the VeloUnit Container is its hygienic design. Product-contact components made of stainless steel and optimized vessel geometries reduce cleaning efforts and downtime while minimizing the risk of contamination.

To ensure reliable operation under various environmental conditions, additional systems such as ventilation, climate control, or weather protection can be integrated. Maintenance hatches and service access points ensure excellent accessibility despite the compact design. Multi-level container solutions can also be equipped with platforms and stair systems for safe access.

Three Levels of Automation

The VeloUnit is available in three automation levels, allowing users to select the configuration that best matches their production requirements.

Manual Configuration

The manual version combines the pneumatic packer, ultrasonic sealing technology, and control system in a compact unit. It is particularly suitable for smaller production volumes or applications requiring higher operator involvement.

Semi-Automatic Configuration

The semi-automatic version adds automatic bag placement systems and conveying technology. This reduces operator workload, improves process stability, and supports continuous material flow.

Fully Automatic Configuration

For maximum productivity, the system can be equipped with automatic bag feeding and robotic palletizing. This enables highly autonomous operation with minimal labor requirements. For high-capacity applications, multi-packer configurations are also available.

Modular Expansion Options

The container solution can be expanded with a wide range of additional modules, including:

Modernizing a packaging process does not always require a completely new system. When existing machinery is technically sound, it can be more economical and sustainable to automate selected process steps and adapt the equipment to changing production requirements. What matters is the entire process: from safe product handling and low-dust filling to compaction, sealing and the creation of stable, stackable packaging units for storage, transport and logistics. These products typically have a very low bulk density, tend to generate dust and are difficult to form into stable bags.
