VEGA at SPS 2026. From measured value to digital added value

At SPS 2026, VEGA will demonstrate how reliable measurement technology for level, switching and pressure can be integrated into networked automation structures.
At SPS 2026, VEGA will demonstrate how reliable measurement technology for level, switching and pressure can be integrated into networked automation structures. The focus is on wireless IIoT solutions, Ethernet-APL, intelligent device functions, standardised data models and digital services spanning the entire lifecycle.

Digitalisation of industrial processes begins where reliable data is generated: at the point of measurement. At the SPS trade fair in Nuremberg from 24 to 26 November 2026, in Booth 102 in Hall 7A, VEGA will be presenting solutions that combine precise measurement data with digital connectivity and user-friendly services. This is just one of the ways the instrument manufacturer supports operators, planners and plant builders in making processes safer, more transparent and more efficient.

Intelligent networking of field instruments

Ethernet-APL connects the field level directly to digital systems, thus enabling access to process, device and diagnostic information. For decentralised or hard-to-reach measuring points, Vegapuls Air provides a wireless IIoT connection. These autonomous radar sensors provide measured values for monitoring and inventory management.

VEGAsense combines measurement technology with intelligent digital functions. Users can operate, diagnose and document sensors both locally and remotely. This makes it possible to transform measured values into useful information for operation, maintenance and process optimisation.

Standardised data instead of manual allocation

Beyond device communication, VEGA is also focusing on making product and device data universally available. Structured documentation in accordance with VDI 2770 and unique device IDs lay the groundwork for automatically identifying and allocating documents and incorporating them into customer systems.

Via the Asset Administration Shell, field instruments become digital assets with standardised descriptions. Technical data, documentation and service information can be made available in a structured format and utilised across different systems. This reduces the need for individual data mappings and facilitates the exchange of information between manufacturers, plant builders and operators.

The digital twin accompanies the respective instrument throughout its entire life cycle. Through myVEGA, authorised users gain access to up-to-date device information and documentation. This ensures that relevant data – from engineering and commissioning right through to operation, maintenance and service – is centrally available.

Service that goes beyond the sensor itself

As part of VEGAcare, VEGA bundles free services that ease day-to-day work related to the measuring point. This includes digital access to device information and documentation, instrument backups and service records. In the event of a service call, relevant information can be provided in a targeted manner. This simplifies analysis, shortens coordination processes and increases efficient support throughout the entire lifecycle.

At SPS, VEGA will thus be demonstrating the benefits of a seamless connection via industrial communication systems – from reliable measured values to standardised provisioning of data to digital servicing. The goal: Make process automation simpler, safer and more efficient.

Grieshaber Group opens Allgeirhof Training Center. After extensive renovation, a traditional Black Forest farmhouse was transformed into a unique venue for the exchange of knowledge and face-to-face contact. Schiltach/Wolfach. The Grieshaber Group has officially opened the Allgeirhof Training Center. After extensive renovation, a traditional Black Forest farmhouse was transformed into a unique venue for the exchange of knowledge and face-to-face contact. For the sister companies VEGA, Grieshaber Precision and Supfina, this project is an investment not only in modern professional development, but also in the Black Forest as a long-term location. Tradition and future Spanning some 1,750 square metres, Allgeirhof combines historic architecture with state-of-the-art technology. The characteristic Black Forest farmhouse façade was immaculately preserved, whilst the interior of the building underwent a complete restructuring. Classrooms for practical and theoretical training enable highly specialised instruction; the installed state-of-the-art media technology supports hybrid training formats. “Allgeirhof embodies the blend of tradition and innovation. VEGA opens new plant in China
VEGA officially commissioned and identity celebrated the opening of a new location in Jiaxing, China, at the end of May. Schiltach/Jiaxing. The measurement technology manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG from Schiltach is further expanding its international presence. At the end of May, the company officially commissioned and celebrated the opening of a new location in Jiaxing, China. Following the expansion of electronics production in the USA in October 2025, the company is strengthening its global production strategy and creating the basis for further growth. Production at the headquarters in Schiltach will remain in place and will be supplemented by the new plant. VEGA has now been active on the Chinese market for 37 years. The newly constructed building in Jiaxing comprises around 21,000 square meters of production, warehouse, and office space. The location provides space for about 180 employees. The start of production was preceded by several years of intensive planning. Construction was completed on schedule: following the start of construction in December 2024, the project was completed…

Old tyres become new raw materials
Pyrum plant sets standards in industry 4.0. In Dillingen, in the heart of the Saarland steel district, PYRUM Innovations turns old tyres into new raw materials Oil, recovered carbon black and gas are generated in the process and fed back into industry. This is the result of 15 years of hard work, a green entrepreneurial spirit and Industry 4.0, in order to ensure stable control of all processes. VEGA sensors are also a vital component, as they perform reliable monitoring of all levels and pressures. In the beginning was the idea. Someone had obviously taken a close look and not only realised that there was a huge problem, but also set out to find a solution. The problem came to a head around 2008, when the sheer volume of scrap tyres became unmanageable and no sensible use for them could be found. Piled high, they sometimes caught the eye in temporary storage in tyre workshops, but time and again one could see them piled up in the driveways of farms or lying abandoned on the roadside. Anyone who has a car probably wonders from time to time what happens to the tyres they have just replaced, as over three million tonnes…

Stable measured values for a resilient water industry. From 4 to 8 May 2026, at IFAT in Munich, booth C1.239, VEGA will be showing state-of-the-art level and pressure instrumentation. Extreme weather events, increasing demands on drinking water quality and ever more complex wastewater processes are putting operators under increasing pressure. A sustainable and resilient water and wastewater infrastructure therefore needs one thing above all else: reliable measurement data, even under difficult conditions. From 4 to 8 May 2026, at IFAT in Munich, booth C1.239, VEGA will be showing how state-of-the-art level and pressure instrumentation helps to keep processes stable and efficient over the long term. Interactive demonstrations at the exhibition stand illustrate the capabilities of the sensors under realistic operating conditions. One focus is on wastewater treatment. Precise and stable measured values are indispensable in all process stages: from inflow via pumping stations to sedimentation and aeration to sludge dewatering and effluent control. Even in the presence of foam, vapours, buildup or changing media conditions, VEGA sensors deliver…
